Harmony Law, LLC recently resolved a case against a contractor who essentially stole its client's advance payments for construction work. The client had paid close to $100k in advance payments. The work was never done. The contractor moved out of state. Harmony Law, LLC pursued the contractor and obtained a judgment for the loss of advance payments. Since it was a civil theft claim, the Court awarded treble damages, making the total judgment close to $300k.
